As a wife and mother of five children (young adults), my family inspires me every day to serve others with compassion, integrity, and purpose; they remind me that no one should be left behind.
My journey in finance began in my twenties when I worked at Equifax Canada, the consumer credit reporting agency. It was there that I truly understood how critical good financial management is. Every day, I interacted with individuals who were surprised to learn that unpaid bills, sometimes as small as an unpaid cell phone bill, could seriously damage their credit. That experience was an eye-opener and marked a turning point in my own relationship with money.
At the time, we were a young family with a modest income and like many families, we faced financial challenges and made mistakes. But those experiences taught us discipline, responsibility, and the importance of budgeting, debt control, and long-term planning.
With academic training in finance and years of hands-on experience, I began offering personal finance workshops to educate individuals and families. This naturally led me to become a certified Financial Security Advisor.
